The assessment program guides you through the energy efficiency process for your small business. A qualified advisor will visit your place of business to assess how you use energy. You’ll then receive a personalized report of recommended, optional upgrades.
Based on the assessment, you may qualify for no-cost, energy-saving upgrades that we’ll install on the spot. Eligible products include:
- ENERGY STAR®-certified LED light bulbs
- Exit sign retrofits
- Open signs

How It Works
Go from assessment to rebate in five easy steps:

Eligibility Requirements
Your business may qualify for a free energy consultation if:
- You’re a DTE electric customer
- You don’t currently have a DTE Account manager
- Your annual total energy bills are less than $120,000
Energy-Saving Upgrades and Rebates
Besides receiving our no-cost program benefits, you can also get rebates and bonuses when you make qualifying energy-efficiency improvements. These rebates are designed to make your project more affordable. You’ll reduce your out-of-pocket costs and decrease payback time. Rebates are available for a range of qualifying upgrades, including:
- Interior and exterior LED lighting
- Agricultural lighting
- LED refrigerated case lighting
- Anti-sweat controls
- Strip curtains
- Door gaskets
- Occupancy sensors
- Electronically commutated motors (ECM)
Rebates are available for projects completed by yourself, a contractor of your choice or one of our participating contractors.
