DTE Energy customers can pay online with a checking or savings account. Eligible customers can use a Visa®, Mastercard® or Discover® credit or debit card. Cash payments are also accepted at one of our many DTE Energy Bill Payment Kiosks.
You can edit the following information on a credit or debit card:
Sign in and go to My Payment Methods (residential) or Manage Payment Methods (business). From here you can edit and delete your existing payment methods, plus add new payment methods.
Yes, payments can be on the same day or scheduled for a future date. Payments made after 5 p.m. will automatically be applied on the next business day.
All DTE Energy customers with active service are eligible to participate in BudgetWise Billing if their account is in good standing and they are not enrolled in any other payment plan.
Customers currently enrolled in onsite electric generation net metering are not eligible for BudgetWise Billing.
Flexible Due Date is a free service that allows you to schedule the due date of your DTE Energy bill each month.

Unfortunately, both residential and business customers are targeted every day by scam artists. Michigan law helps protect you against scam artists by making it a felony to impersonate energy employees.
If you suspect you are the target of an energy scam, contact us immediately at 800.477.4747 or sign in to your account to confirm any online activity. Do not hand out any money or provide credit card information. Anyone suspecting foul play should contact local police immediately.
