Stay warm & cozy inside when it’s chilly or bone-chilling outside.

Upgrade to a high efficiency model and get rebates up to $500.

How it works

A participating contractor will come to your home with information about furnace equipment that qualifies for rebates.

After you select a new model, your contractor will:

  • Properly size the equipment for maximum efficiency.
  • Remove the old model and install your new unit.
  • Fill out and submit a rebate form for you online.

Your rebate check will arrive by mail in six to eight weeks.

Newer furnaces operate up to 50% more efficiently than older units. You’ll save money and energy after replacing your unit.

If you are a DTE residential natural gas customer, you are eligible for furnace and thermostat replacement rebates. If you are a DTE residential electric customer, you are eligible to replace your air source or ground source heat pump or ductless mini-split. Electric rebates can be found in the table on this page. New construction and first-time installation are not covered in the rebate program.

† Premise eligibility is limited to single family homes. Single family homes are defined as 2 or less connected units. Each unit must be individually metered for natural gas and electric and each unit must have its own heating, cooling and water heating equipment.

    Get an Annual Tune-Up

Keep your heating system at peak performance by having an annual tune-up before cold temperatures set in. DTE provides rebates to help offset the cost of furnace tune-ups that include combustion analysis.

    Clean or Replace Filters

Dirty filters block airflow, causing your furnace and central air conditioning to work harder and less economically. Clean or replace furnace and air filters regularly - at least every three months.

    Lower Your Heating Costs

Set your thermostat between 68 and 70 degrees when you're home and 65 degrees or lower when you're away. You can save around 3% on heating costs for each degree you lower your thermostat.
