Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, the following Terms and Conditions apply to the DTE Insight program.

Right of Use

By subscribing to DTE Insight Premium Subscription(s), you agree that you: (1) are a DTE Electric Company customer and at least 18 years of age or older, (2) will be charged and shall pay a monthly equipment fee on your billing statement at the start of each billing cycle unless otherwise agreed upon between you and DTE Electric Company, (3) understand the DTE Energy Bridge remains the property of DTE and is offered only to DTE customers, (4) will use the equipment only at the account address it was requested and return it prior to moving out or terminating service at that address, (5) are opting-in to receive all communication via email, SMS text, phone, direct mail and mobile app, regarding the DTE Energy Bridge throughout the entirety of these Terms and Conditions and (6) have read and understand these Terms and Conditions.

Once you agree to opt-in, you will be offered a 6-month free trial for use of the DTE Energy Bridge. If you are not satisfied with the product for any reason during the free trial period, you may opt out at any time and DTE will provide you with a pre-paid return label. If you decide to keep the DTE Energy Bridge after the 6-month free trial expires, your service will continue uninterrupted and the monthly equipment fee will be charged on your billing statement. The monthly equipment fee amount is based on the subscription plan you choose. If you would like to cancel your service, please contact a DTE Insight representative to help you return the DTE Energy Bridge. Once the device is returned and in the possession of DTE, the monthly equipment fee will be terminated on your next billing cycle. If you plan to move out and/or transfer your service, it is your responsibility to return the device prior to your move-out date to terminate the monthly equipment fee and avoid a non-returned equipment charge. If a charge is incurred due to a move out, DTE Energy will refund the amount once the DTE Energy Bridge is returned to the mailing address provided and in the possession of DTE Energy. If the DTE Energy Bridge is reported lost or damaged, the monthly equipment fee will be terminated and you will be charged a lost or damaged equipment fee. This agreement and these Terms and Conditions are non-transferrable. Your mobile carrier's message and data rates may apply. Offers and services are subject to change without notice.

DTE Energy's primary purpose is to present our qualified customers with a tool to view their real-time energy consumption and the ability to connect and manage smart devices when the DTE Insight app and DTE Energy Bridge are paired. To qualify, you must be a D1 Residential Service Rate customer and have an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) meter installed at the location where the DTE Energy Bridge will be connected. The DTE Energy Bridge is not guaranteed to display real-time usage with any other meter type (i.e., net metering, solar, wind, geothermal, etc.). Customers with other meter types may use the DTE Insight app to view their account's total historical consumption. If you choose to opt-in to these Terms and Conditions and are not a D1 Residential Service Rate customer at the account for which the DTE Energy Bridge is requested, you understand the use of the DTE Energy Bridge is at your risk. Accordingly, DTE will not provide any credits or waive any charges associated with the DTE Insight program, including but not limited to the monthly fee, or fee for non-returned, late and/or damaged equipment. In addition, you understand that DTE is not responsible if the DTE Energy Bridge cannot connect, display your real-time energy consumption, displays inaccurate and/or unexpected real-time display results, or the ability to connect and manage smart devices if you are not a D1 Residential Service Rate customer. D1 Residential Service Rates can be found in DTE Electric Company’s Rate Book for Electric Service.

We expect you will install the DTE Energy Bridge immediately after delivery and report any technical issues with the device to DTE Insight Customer Support at (585) 498-7200 or email us. If we determine a replacement DTE Energy Bridge is required, we will replace the DTE Energy Bridge with a new or refurbished device that has comparable features.

If you need to cancel your service, please contact DTE Insight Customer Support at (585) 498-7200 or email us.

Installation and Connection Requirements

The performance of the DTE Energy Bridge may be impacted by other factors outside of DTE's control (i.e., lost internet connection, radio interference, acts of God, etc.) and are not subject to refunds.

Premium Subscriptions Terms & Conditions

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, the following Terms and Conditions apply only to the DTE Insight program Premium Subscription(s).

By participating in the DTE Insight Premium Subscriptions(s) and agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you accept the advertised monthly charges for access to the Premium Subscription(s), unless otherwise agreed upon between you and DTE Electric Company. You understand that charges will be applied to your monthly DTE Energy bill once you enroll in any of the Premium Subscription(s). DTE Energy will apply any enrollment changes in the monthly Premium Subscription(s) at the end of the current billing cycle.

You will be able to purchase your own Premium Subscription(s) smart devices and add the supported devices to your DTE Insight app (see the Platform Compatibility and Supported Device Type recommendations) and/or make purchases of compatible products from the DTE Marketplace that can be accessed within the DTE Insight App.

The products you purchase will remain your property to use as you wish whether you choose to continue to participate in the Premium Subscription(s) or not. If you choose to no longer participate in the Premium Subscription(s), you will not be charged a termination fee and you will no longer be charged the Premium Subscription(s) monthly enrollment fee.

Platform Compatibility and Supported Device Types

Control products are supported by iOS and/or Android devices. DTE Insight compatible products include, but are not limited to, light bulbs, switches, plugs, load controllers, thermostats, sensors and smoke/carbon monoxide detectors.

The Energy Bridge is required to participate in the DTE Insight Premium Subscription(s). However, the Energy Bridge will be billed separately once you request and agree to the Energy Bridge Terms and Conditions. Although the Energy Bridge will also serve as a smart hub, excluding devices will not stop the monthly equipment fee for the Energy Bridge, as you will still be able to monitor your home's real-time electricity use.
