Not necessarily. Your budget amount is reviewed each quarter. We look at the past 12 months of your usage history and current energy prices and we may adjust your budget amount up or down.

If you significantly change your energy consumption, your BudgetWise Billing amount will change, too. Factors can include major weather changes; adding or removing a hot tub, swimming pool or appliances; and a change in the number of people living in your home that influences your energy use.

Since your budget is based on the last 12 months of billing history, it will take several months to see an impact.

Settlement Month is the yearly reconciliation of your gas and/or electric account enrolled in BudgetWise Billing. Differences between your BudgetWise Billing payments and your actual charges are balanced.

If you were overcharged, the credit will be applied to your next billing statement. If you were undercharged, you are required to pay the total balance in order to be eligible to remain in the program.

"Your BudgetWise Billing," on the left side of the statement, shows the amount due.

"Actual Balance Information," on the right side, shows your actual energy charges. That’s the amount you would pay if you were not enrolled in BudgetWise Billing. So, by monitoring “Actual Balance Information” you can always be aware of the balance on your account.

The "Important Information" section will include messages about your BudgetWise Billing program, including changes to your budget amount.

You can unenroll from BudgetWise Billing at any time. By doing so, you will owe the outstanding balance in addition to your current monthly charges.
