Tony Tomczak
Vice President, Corporate Services and Chief Procurement Officer

Tony Tomczak is the vice president of Corporate Services and Chief Procurement Officer for DTE Energy. Tomczak is responsible for strategic management of the company’s procurement, supplier performance management, warehousing, fleet, facilities and real estate organizations. In addition, he leads implementation of environmental sustainability projects within DTE’s buildings, fleet vehicles and supply chain. He is also responsible for the company’s local and diverse supplier initiatives.

Tomczak joined DTE Energy in 2006. He most recently served as director of Supply Chain Management where he was responsible for all non-fuel purchases, materials planning, contract development and performance and warehouse operations for DTE Energy.

Prior to that position, Tomczak served as director of Facilities and Fleet where he was responsible for the maintenance, capital strategy and execution for real estate, buildings, trucks and equipment and garages across the DTE Energy network.

Prior to joining DTE Energy, Tomczak was vice president of Purchasing for Tower Automotive, responsible for materials and services expenditures. Tomczak earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and a Master of Science degree in Industrial Operations with distinction from Lawrence Technological University.

Tomczak serves on the board of directors of the National Minority Supplier Development Council and was selected as its Chief Procurement Officer of the Year in 2019. He is a member of the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council (MMSDC) Executive Finance Committee and was chairman of the MMSDC board of directors during 2018 and 2019. He is member of the Utility Purchasing Management Group Executive Committee and chairman of the Electric Utility Industry Sustainable Supply Chain Alliance. In 2019, Tomczak also received the Community Leader Award from Results Mentoring.

Jaspreet Singh
Director, Supply Chain Management

Jaspreet Singh is the director of Supply Chain Management for DTE Energy (NYSE:DTE), a Detroit-based diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide. Its operating units include an electric utility serving 2.2 million customers in Southeastern Michigan and a natural gas utility serving 1.2 million customers in Michigan. The DTE Energy portfolio also includes non-utility energy businesses focused on power and industrial projects, natural gas pipelines, gathering and storage, and energy marketing and trading. As one of Michigan’s leading corporate citizens, DTE Energy is a force for growth and prosperity in the 450 Michigan communities it serves in a variety of ways that include philanthropy, volunteerism and economic progress.

Singh is responsible for all non-fuel purchases, materials planning, supplier performance management, and warehouse operations for DTE Energy, focused on high-quality diverse suppliers throughout a global marketplace. During the past five years, Singh has played a significant role in helping the company reduce outside expenditures at a rate of 4 percent to 6 percent annually through the successful negotiation of a number of large contracts that included items such as external audit services, line clearance services, construction services, wire and cable, transformers, temporary labor, hardware and software, prescription drugs, healthcare administration, uranium and capital equipment utilized in support of the company’s generation facilities.

Singh has been instrumental in helping the Supply Chain Management team win the Michigan Minority Supplier Development Council’s “Corporation of the Year” award five out of the last eight years, as well as the prestigious 2016 EEI Supplier Diversity Excellence award. He has also been part of the team that has sourced over $1.4 billion of goods and services from Michigan-based companies to help DTE Energy be a leading supporter of Governor Snyder’s Pure Michigan Business Connect initiative.

Singh is passionate about supplier diversity and has made tremendous efforts and implemented actionable programs to bring more minority and women owned supplier partners to DTE Energy. Additional efforts include engagement of DTE Energy’s prime suppliers in the effort to bring minority, women and local suppliers into its fold. DTE Energy’s supplier diversity spend has increased by 92 percent in the last five years.

Singh joined DTE Energy in 2007 and has progressed through various roles in the Supply Chain Management organization before assuming the role of Director, Supply Chain Management. Prior to joining DTE Energy, Singh held various roles in program management, supplier cost optimization, finance and engineering in the automotive industry.

Singh earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Thapar University in Patiala, India.

Diverse Supplier Certification
To be recognized as a diverse business enterprise (minority- or women-owned), a business must undergo a review and certification process that ensures the business is M/WBE owned and operated. DTE Energy recognizes M/WBE certification provided by the following third-party certifiers:

• National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) provides certification for ethnic minorities. A MBE is a for profit enterprise, regardless of size, physically located in the United States or its trust territories, which is 51 percent owned, operated and controlled by minority group members.
• National Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) provides certification for women-owned companies. A women‘s business enterprise (WBE) must have 51 percent ownership by a woman or women, proof of effective management of the business, control of the business and have U.S. citizenship or U.S. resident alien status.

Supplier Diversity Advisory Council
The Supplier Diversity Advisory Council was formed to strengthen partnerships between DTE Energy, suppliers and community leaders and provides DTE with advice and assistance from external resources to ensure its diversity goals are aligned with and supported by the communities where we live and serve. The council is comprised of suppliers, area business leaders and DTE Energy leadership.
